Douglas Firth Anderson is Professor of History at Northwestern College (Iowa). With a Ph.D. degree in American religious history from the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, his research interests focus on the history of the U.S. West, American religion, Native Americans, and “place.” His most recent publication is a chapter in Religion and Public Life in the Pacific, edited by Wade Clark Roof and Mark Silk (Walnut Creek, CA: AltaMira Press, 2005).
